ADDITIONAL INFO:

Some great news this report, the nets have been taking out for the rest of the season. This should make the fishing pick up dramatically. The biggest fish of the report is a 12- pounder and Warren Finn landed an 11 -pounder a day after his 14th birthday. Warrens fish was caught on a Senko. The topwater bite has been slow due to the heat. Most of the big fish are going deeper and being caught in about 15-30 feet of water. The lures that go deep are working the best such as plastic worms & lizards, crankbaits, swimbaits, jigs, and heavy spinners. The most productive baits now are plastic worms and lizards in the black with blue tail and watermelon color. One can still catch some fish on soft plastic jerkbaits early in the morning and late in the afternoon. The level of the lake is down quite a bit but that just makes the bass concentrate more. Deep diving crankbaits have been productive for the people that are willing to throw them all day. It is a difficult task to throw that monster crank but it is definitely a good search bait when the fishing gets slow.

Cranking the bait down as soon as it hits the water and retrieving it very slow has been the key. Most of the bites have been soft especially on plastics, spinners and jigs but not on cranks and swimbaits. The Rattletrap in the silver with black back and silver with blue back has been producing some numbers as well as big fish. It is getting about that time for some serious jig fishing. If you are headed down, be sure to bring plenty.
