3. Yo-Zuri deep diver- Watermelon, Shad, Chartreuse, White.

4. 8” Lizards and 10” worms- Green pumpkin, Watermelon, Black with Blue tail, Red Shad.

5. Osprey or Ultimate Swimbait – 8” to 12” – Clear with green top and sparkles. (or anything close)

6. Pop R- (Ricos, Bill Dance Excalibur, Yo-Zuri) – White, Silver / Black, White / Red, Gold

The fishing is back to where it should be with many numbers and big fish coming in. Some of the big bass caught have already spawned out but most of them are still on the beds. Most customers are landing 30-50 fish a day but a lot of those fish are males. The females are also coming in as well but as one knows the male bass always protects the nest and with this in mind the males are always caught first. It is a toss up between the best bait for the report but here are a couple of options. A shallow diver crankbait in the white/chartreuse or baby bass color has been very productive. The shallow diver usually runs from about 1-4 feet in depth. The deep diver has been good also but in the afternoons when the wind picks up. Carolina Rigging worms and lizards off the points and banks are great with an 8” green pumpkin or watermelon lizard. The customers that are looking just for the big bass should definitely come down with some Osprey or Ultimate Swimbaits. This is a giant soft plastic lure that looks like a baitfish. Throwing this close to the bank and working it on the top of the water has been bringing in some nice quality fish. Of course we can’t forget about of friend the Senko and Kinami Flashes. These have been and will probably always be great. Clients have landed as many as 120 fish a day on these soft plastics jerkbaits and some monsters. Most of our fishing is done in around 2-12 feet of water. The topwater has been fantastic especially with pop’r s. There has been an estimated 60 fish from 8-12 pounds caught within these 2 weeks of fishing. About 10 of those big fish came on another famous El Salto plug called the Zarah Spook in the silver/black color as well as white with sparkles.
