ADDITIONAL INFO:
The Big fish are on the transition from coming down to going to the beds. The fishing has turned down a little bit which is normal during this time (pre-spawn). The bass should be spawning in about 2-3 weeks. Jeff and Pam from North Carolina experienced some of this tough pre-spawn fishing but broke the odds by landing 9 fish over 9 pounds including a whopping 14.6-pound largemouth bass. This monster came on an 8” green pumpkin Zoom lizard. Most of these bass were caught on a roadbed near the cemetery on lizards in the color of green pumpkin, black with a blue tail, or red shad. 8”-10” plastic worms and 6”-8” lizards have been producing the most and biggest fish. Both Texas and Carolina rigging are productive but one can not Carolina rig in a vast majority of the lake due to the amount of structure. Fat free shads have been steady and a 9 pounder was caught on the citrus color. Medium divers have been working pretty well in the same color. The top water fishing has been slow on big fish but one is catching some numbers early in the morning and late in the evenings. A 9-pound bass did come on a Pop’r early in the morning but most of the time they are small. A Zara spook will weed out the smaller fish and give you better chances of landing a bigger bass.
