Huites Bass Fishing Report for February 7, 2002

Report:

I just returned from another excellent outing at Lake Huites. Many thanks to all the people who make the outing a truly enjoyable experience. Food and accomodations were outstanding. The staff there does an incredible job to insure that your trip is an enjoyable and relaxing one.

I fished for 6 days using many of the following baits: -Flukes, white was extremely hot. Large quanities of fish including many at 7+ lbs. -8" Lizards, chartruese pumpkin was especially good along the bluffs and steep banks. Brought in many nice fish. -1 oz.spinnerbait chartruese/white w/ 1 small colorado blade and 1 medium willow blade worked well along steep banks and rocky points. I trailed it w/neon yellow craw. Larger fish really liked this one.

Topwater was spotty due to some of the high winds, but when it was working, a lot of large fish were caught. 9 lbs. was largest caught on a white fluke.

I plan to return in November and am already thinking about it.
